Netflix viewers ‘sickened’ by new highly explicit series featuring extremely graphic scenes

February 9, 2025

Netflix viewers react to the series Supersex, raising the question about the boundaries of mainstream entertainment.

Many wrote they felt “sickened” by the explicit graphic scenes and threatened “to cancel their subscription.”

The series feature the life of Rocco Siffredi, an Italian adult film star who has filmed over 1,300 p*rn films over the course of his acting career. He’s played by Italian actor Alessandro Borghi.

Supersex follows Rocco’s journey from a simple guy from Ortona, central Italy, to “the godfather of rough s*x.”

A scene from Rocco’s mother funeral, in which he engages in a se*ual act with one of his mother’s friends is dubbed one of the most controversial.

Viewers were quick to share their thoughts of the seven-episode Netflix series.

One wrote, “I watched Supersex, which was compelling and interesting — until midway through episode six. It was appalling, disrespectful, and uncalled for. I’m talking about the cemetery scene. Before this episode, I would have given it a thumbs up. So messed up.”

Another added: “Yes, I know, complaining about too many sex scenes in Supersex is like complaining about too many car races in Fast & Furious. But also, a few less, eh.”

The main actor spoke of the series, calling it the “absolutely the most complicated thing I’ve ever made in my life” and revealed that he filmed a whopping 50 s*x scenes in just 95 days, as per the Italian news outlet Today.

Rocco, whose life the series features, opened up about the controversy it caused.

Asked if viewers would be shocked with it, he said, “For sure.

“I never, ever like to tell you one part of me, I always say everything.

“You either like it or you don’t, this is who I am; I could never be who I am without showing everything about myself.

“The part shown on Netflix, which people don’t know, is the way I grew up, the way my life came up since I was a child. How did I grow up? What were the situations involved in my life?

“So this is the main Rocco, really, which people don’t know, most people know me just in front of the camera, naked.”

Netflix rated the series strictly for viewers aged 18 and over, but that didn’t prevent viewers from showing their discomfort and outrage over the content they dubbed “inappropriate.”

Of course, this isn’t the first time that Netflix tried to push boundaries regarding societal norms with films such as 365 Days, and Money Shot: The Po*nhub Story.
