Artist Jeffrey Thomas Reimagines 15 Disney Princesses as Creepy, Haunting Characters

September 27, 2024

Artist Jeffrey Thomas has taken the beloved, fairy tale Disney princesses and transformed them into eerie, haunting versions of themselves in a captivating and chilling reimagining. Known for his dark twist on iconic characters, Thomas’ artwork presents these princesses as you’ve never seen them before—imbued with an unsettling edge that combines elements of horror and fantasy.

Each piece of art showcases a unique vision of the princesses, maintaining their core identities while layering them with macabre details that give them an entirely new persona. From Snow White with a sinister look in her eyes and blood-red lips, to Cinderella surrounded by shattered glass and shadows, these versions are both familiar and unsettling.

Thomas’ ability to blend beauty with darkness makes these reinterpretations particularly striking. Ariel, for example, emerges from the depths not as a playful mermaid, but as a ghostly siren, while Belle’s love for books and the Beast takes on a more gothic tone, filled with eerie mystery. The artwork turns the tales we grew up with into haunting stories of survival, tragedy, and sometimes revenge.

For fans of both Disney and the dark fantasy genre, Thomas’ reimagined princesses are a thrilling dive into the world of what-ifs, allowing us to see these beloved characters in a completely different light—one that’s as haunting as it is mesmerizing.

#1 Snow White, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves

Imagine how this poster could change the whole story of this story. The Snow White would be an evil character with malicious intent, that she would use the seven dwarves and her companions to spread damage. I have to say those black eyes are scaring me!

#2 Ariel, the Little Mermaid

Not only did Thomas turn the little mermaid into a goth who looks like she just came out of her grave, but he also changed the appearance of our innocent fish Flounder into a mortal one.

#3 Jasmine, Alladin

This has to be the most iconic among all the evil princesses. The addition of cheetahs and those skeleton earrings would scare anyone away. And did you notice the scratches on the belly and the protruding tooth? Watch out for princess jasmine!

#4 Belle, Beauty and the beast

Belle ya no es esa chica de al lado gentil y amable que te recordaba a las lavandas y todo lo bueno. ¡Ella está dispuesta a llenar el miedo en sus corazones y tiene el poder de la bestia a su lado!

#5 Pocahontas, Pocahontas

If you were thinking of asking Pocahontas for help, forget it. She has surrendered to the dark forces. And it is not just her, Grandma Willow will be with each step to advise and correct the step of Pocahontas. Thomas did very well with the bloodstains and skeleton heads.

#6 Cinderella, Cinderella

Cinderella couldn’t have gotten scarier! She is barely recognizable. You may not have noticed, but she is holding the mouse Gus in her hands. Thomas has truly dug up even the most innocent characters and turned them evil.

#7 Aurora, Sleeping Beauty

The cute pink princess is long gone. She meets the zombie aurora, she slept well in her grave but she has reawakened and she will not spare anyone. No one can escape his anger

#8 Blue Fairy, Pinocchio

Time is running out and your time will come. When the needle reaches 12, Alice will come for you. Meanwhile, she sucks the blood of the people who fell victim to her fury.

#9 Esmeralda, The Hunchback of Notre Dame

Although Esmeralda still looks as ravishing as ever here, she is not the same. Jeffery Thomas really brought out his creativity in this one. The half-burned face and a burned arm are giving us the feeling of Mufasa from the Lion King!

#10 Merida, Brave

Merida was always strong and powerful, but was that enhanced by the powers of evil? We would have the most fearsome character in this series

#11 Wendy, Peter Pan

Oh, Wendy, we thought Jeffery would forgive you!

#12 Megara, Hercules

That’s the creepiest version of Megara I’ve ever seen.

#13 Tiana, Princess And The Frog

Tiana looks more like a witch dragon princess here.

#14 Rapunzel, Tangled

You better not help her escape. Oh!

#15 Mulan, Mulan
